When browsing the Ghost Furniture created by husband and wife team of Designers’ Block fame, ‘Harry Potter meets Cinderella‘ comes to mind. The ever stylish Di Overton has launched her Ghost Furniture range after years of planning and hard work, her eye for flea market finds, french chic and good sense of humour is evident in every piece lovingly crafted by artisans, bringing pieces of old furniture back to life in the most witty and unexpected way. Congrats Di and Harvey, you guys rock!

Starting Dec 3-7, I will be featuring rooms from the talented ladies who took part in our project. They have been great sports, decorating their rooms with hard work and panache {the garden & dining room will be unveiled in the Spring}. It’s been fun working with you all, I can’t wait to move in!

Everytime I see Lisa Solomon’s work, I am taken aback by her creativity, thought-processes and poetry behind every piece. Love her recent show at Little Bird Gallery entitled “over the river and through the woods” and “workAday” :: 13 artists takes on completing one singular work in a day.
More of her work can be found via her portfolio and shop | Underdog Ink

* Besides producing super-adorable products, peSeta (Madrid) setup a Foundation to collect unwanted clothing and fabrics to be recycled.
* Urban Outfitters setup a contest for 20 artists and designers to take part in their Urban Renewal line (submissions deadline was June 15). These exclusive limited editions are handcrafted from vintage, deadstock and surplus materials — all sourced from rag mills around the world. The results are completely unique: Kennedy-era bed sheets are redesigned into one-of-a-kind dresses while early-80s menswear shirts start over as skirts. Pieces are created one at a time entirely by hand in Philadelphia. Reconstructed with care, no two of these one-off re-designs will ever be exactly alike.
* I love their use of illustration alongside store products.
