Lisa Versacio (graduate from New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology), founder of Brocade Home on her background: ‘Having grown up in the fashion world, particularly with my love for textiles, has helped me to look at the home and all interiors within a fashion context. I think the fusion of fashion and interior design has been an exciting evolution and has inspired a lot more uniqueness and individuality.

The Casulo is for people on the move, those in job training, students, and people who have to change their location frequently. Each unit includes all the essential furniture for setting up in a new place: Wardrobe, large desk/table with a separate desk cabinet with locking drawers, a revolving, height-adjustable desk chair, two stools, a single bed and mattress, and a tall set of shelves. flea-market-style.jpgFlea Market Style” (a recent acquisition of mine),
I couldn’t recommend this book enough.
Emily Chalmers and Ali Hanan advocate a subtle mixing of styles, patterns, and colours, and emphasize the beauty of objects that have seen a bit of life. The book’s authors explain how to find fresh and unexpected uses of second-hand pieces and antiques, and reveal how to mix old and new with flair and panache.
now, if I just pack my bags and move into an Airstream *smile*

habitat.jpgThanks to Terence Conran, a young furniture designer and restaurateur with a vision (since 1964), it was out with the dark, heavy furniture of his parents’ generation and in with something altogether cooler and as groovy as Mary Quant’s new bob. He had created a revolutionary concept, offering to the ‘young moderns’ a democratic ideal of contemporary design at affordable prices. Shopping as entertainment, furniture and home accessories from all over the world, mixing the love of ones home with the joy of colour, food, art and all the good things in life - Habitat had invented the thing we now call Lifestyle.
