Mark Ryden

Mark Ryden (born 1963 in Medford Oregon)

Ryden’s work combines hyper-cute innocence with child-like honesty about the state of mankind and our relationships with ourselves, each other and our past. His subject matter loaded with cultural connotation i.e. dewy vixens, cuddly plush pets, alchemical symbols, religious emblems, primordial landscapes and slabs of meat influenced by ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style imagery where purity converge with morbidity and an often sinister world.
