Preparing for Easter

bunny_mandala.jpgNo other living creature features as heavily in contemporary character design and art as the humble hare. But what exactly makes bunnies so irresistible to artists, designers and illustrators worldwide? Depending on the viewers’ cultural context rabbits can symbolise anything from insanity, alertness, defencelessness, all the way to promiscuity, magic powers and utter innocence. By condensing the endless variations of the rabbit motif into one ultimate system – a perfect bunny mandala – the true nature of the beast emerges: the eternal essence of rabbit. Pictoplasma

  1. Its funny how different this image is small and then large. I didn’t really get bunnies while reading the post. I thought it was some kind of Islamic tile! It was totally different when I clicked on it, and saw all of the little characters! So cute and fun, I think it would be cool on tiles . . . playful in a playroom! (Do I have design on the brain?)

  2. Hi Corey, this ‘Bunny Mandala’ can be purchased as a poster, special gift wrap paper or even as an infinite wallpaper! You can of course turn it into stickers :) Pity you missed the premiere presentation of the shrine on April 11th in Nice, France.
