Craft Centre

manchester-craftdesign-cent.jpgI have lived in my city for over 2 decades and have heard of the Manchester Craft & Design Centre housed in a Victorian cast iron and glass building formerly the Smithfield fish market. The centre comprises 18 retail/studio spaces with designer exhibitions, workshops, retail studio showrooms ranging from jewellery, ceramics and textiles to furniture and clothing design.
The Northern Quarter has always catered for the alternative/art-scene and is being regenerated making it an up-and-coming area for the trendy student population. I have never visited the centre as the area is off the beaten track, but I felt the need to explore and support more of the local art & craft artisans and to share with you here *enjoy*
