Manon Gignoux work is inspired by clothes worn by workers in the early 20th century exploring the “traces of wear and tear” on clothes. Encompassing recovery, re-appropriation and aesthetic discrepancy, reusing clothes and objects that retain the memory of their original use and contemporary fabrics reworked with dyes, pleats and weat… given a new function. Manon’s creations illustrate the meeting of clothes, body and décor.[film]
