I’ve been wanting to start a scrapbook for some time (a diary of sorts), but the kits and materials are overwhelming, so where do I start? One thing for sure, inspiration is everywhere. Hello!
I can really help you! Do you already have the photos printed? That would be the first step. Print and then add to the photos you already have and I like to put them in chronological order. I use a Creative Memories Power Sort Box to organize my photos. It is so great. I have 3. It organized up to 2400 photos with room on the lid for the large photos.
Here is what you need: a full paper kit where everything is beautiful and matches. That way, you have no “decision making” because all you have to do is add your photos and do your journalling on the journal boxes that are provided in the kit. This is the only way to go for a first project! It will be stunningly beautiful and everything will match!
The kit is called a “Power Pallete” – and I recommend the “Delight” and they also have a new one which is “black and white” that is truly beautiful. All of them are. Go to: http://www.mycmsite.com/marycluley and then “shop products” then “traditional scrapbooking” and then “paper” then “Power Pallettes.” They are truly georgeous. YOu will have EVERYTHING you need to begin and FINISH a beautiful album. Your adhesive is the tape runner…..there are other cutting tools which are extremely helpful, too….the personal trimmer and corner rounder, and cutting system is so great….it cuts a perfect circle every time.
If I can help you in any way, do contact me. This is what I do…help people begin recording their lives in albums. Very sincerely, Mary Cluley
would love to see your version of a scrapbook!
im with lisa. i would also love some more time to play with paper!!
If only I had an extra 8 hours in a day I would start a scrapbook. It’s just not the same if you do one on a computer.
yeah i wanted one as well, but in the end i got too lazy too start it and lost motivation and didn’t have time to do it. i spent too much time in front of my computer insted *sigh*.
you should defn give it a go – vintage papers is always a fun way to start, mag clippings and some black markers – go for it!!
Can’t wait to see what you do next. Your blog is looking great by the way!
Like the new layout and delicious colour here. Here’s to a change. Makes me feel like doing the same… out with the old and in with the new, as they say.
i too love what you
have done…
never been fond of the
paper source
brand of scrapbooking…
but i love
the more documentary
types of scrapbooking…
I keep all sorts of mixed media art journals and they are very rewarding, I would definitely recommend it!
